A tragic road accident at the Downside section of the Achimota Forest Roundabout near the DSTV bus stop has claimed the life of a tricycle driver. The fatal collision, which occurred on Thursday, involved a Benz saloon car and a tricycle loaded with refuse.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash was so severe that the tricycle was completely mangled upon impact. The driver of the tricycle died instantly, while the Benz sustained significant damage.
Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and prevent further chaos as heavy traffic built up in the area. The Benz driver has since been arrested and is assisting the police with investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
Emergency responders later cleared the wreckage, allowing traffic to flow normally again. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution on the stretch, which has recently recorded several accidents.
