Recent events have brought to light a shocking incident at a pharmacy in Burma Camp, involving a soldier and two civilians, including the daughter of a two-star general. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, shows warrant officer class one (WO1) Williams Mensah assaulting the pharmacy attendant after a dispute over a refund.
The escalation began when WO1 Mensah sent his son to purchase a dewormer. The son opted for a product priced at GH¢65, which Mensah later rejected. Upon arrival at the pharmacy to seek a refund, the attendant informed them that, according to pharmacy policy, the medication could not be returned. Mensah’s anger boiled over, leading to a physical confrontation.
During the confrontation, bystanders witnessed further chaos when a female customer, confirmed to be the daughter of a military general, attempted to document the incident. In response, she was assaulted by Mensah. Following the viral spread of the CCTV footage, public outrage ensued, resulting in Mensah’s arrest by military police. Reports indicate that he was issued the GH¢65 refund after returning to the pharmacy later. As of now, there is no official statement from the Ghana Armed Forces, but internal investigations are reportedly underway.
