The government of Ghana has announced with deep regret the untimely passing of Her Excellency Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. As a prominent former first lady and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, her contributions to society have left a lasting impact.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Government Communications, Mrs Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, after a brief illness. The unfortunate news has resonated throughout the nation, with many expressing their sorrow for the loss of a revered public figure.
The official statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP and spokesperson to the president, conveyed the government’s deepest condolences to her immediate family. “Government extends its deepest condolences to her immediate family,” the statement affirmed, emphasising the profound impact Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings had on the country and her unyielding commitment to bettering the lives of women in Ghana.
