Police Shootout in Offinso: Two Suspected Robbers Killed

In a dramatic turn of events, two suspected robbers lost their lives during a police shootout in Offinso, Ashanti Region. This incident unfolded on Tuesday, following an intelligence-led operation executed by the Ashanti South Regional Police Command. The police had received crucial information about the suspects’ activities, which led to a focused raid aimed at apprehending individuals involved in a series of robberies.

The targeted suspects, identified as Osman Majid Abdul Sadik, commonly known as Cross, were linked to several crimes, including multiple robberies and murders in the Mankranso area. Actively working to dismantle this criminal gang, the police identified three hideouts related to the suspects. A well-coordinated team, utilizing four operational vehicles, moved in to execute the operation in Offinso Anyankaso after assessing the potential threat posed by the suspects.

During the police operation, the suspects reportedly opened fire on law enforcement officials. In response, officers returned fire, resulting in two men suffering injuries. They were swiftly transported to the Bekwai Municipal Hospital, where they were sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. Subsequent investigations led to the recovery of significant evidence, including a pump-action gun loaded with six rounds and a Smith & Wesson firearm, which indicates the level of danger posed by the suspects. The deceased individuals’ remains have been deposited at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
