Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced three debut call-ups — Prince Kwabena Adu, Kelvin Nkrumah, and Prince Osei Owusu — for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

The trio’s inclusion reflects Ghana’s ongoing effort to broaden its attacking options and reward standout performances from both domestic and overseas players.

Prince Osei Owusu, a 28-year-old forward for CF Montréal, headlines the new additions. Born in Germany, Owusu rose through VfB Stuttgart’s youth academy and went on to play for Hoffenheim, Arminia Bielefeld, and TSV 1860 Munich. After a productive stint at Toronto FC, where he scored nine goals in 31 matches, his recent form in Major League Soccer earned him a spot in Otto Addo’s latest squad.

On the local front, Kelvin Nkrumah of Medeama SC has been one of the shining stars in the Ghana Premier League. Known for his blistering pace and creativity, Nkrumah has played a vital role in Medeama’s impressive run this season, prompting fans to call for his inclusion in the national setup.

Meanwhile, Prince Kwabena Adu, a 24-year-old striker based in the Czech Republic, has been in prolific form. His physical presence and composed finishing add much-needed depth to Ghana’s attack as the team readies for the Kirin Challenge Cup.

The Black Stars are set to begin training in Nagoya on Wednesday ahead of their clash with Japan on Friday, November 14, before taking on South Korea later in the week.

These matches will provide Otto Addo with a valuable opportunity to assess new talents as Ghana continues its preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
