Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ family Calls for Privacy

In a poignant moment of grief, the family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has appealed to the public for privacy following her passing. Oheneba Akwesi Abayie, the head of the family, confirmed that all relevant institutions have been officially informed about her death.

During a press briefing in Accra on October 23, Oheneba Abayie disclosed that significant figures, including the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, have been made aware of the situation. The family is under considerable emotional strain and has requested the public’s understanding as they navigate this difficult time. Abayie stated, “At this stage, the family is obviously in mourning and will crave your indulgence to give us some privacy.”

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who passed away at the age of 76 at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, was a significant figure in Ghana’s political and social landscape. Born on November 17, 1948, in Cape Coast, she pursued education through prominent institutions, including the Ghana International School and the University of Science and Technology, where she nurtured her passion for art and textiles. Her contributions to the nation, along with her advocacy for social issues, leave a lasting legacy.
