Internal Security Recruitment 2025: Daily Screening Limited to 1,000 Applicants to Curb Overcrowding — Interior Minister

The Interior Minister, Mubarak Muntaka, has announced strict new crowd-management measures for the 2025 Internal Security Service recruitment, confirming that each screening centre will process a maximum of 1,000 applicants per day — split between 500 in the morning session and 500 in the afternoon.

Addressing the media in Accra on Friday, November 14, 2025, the minister said the decision is a direct response to the tragic incident recorded during the Armed Forces recruitment earlier in the week. He explained that the Ministry, working alongside security chiefs, has introduced tighter controls to ensure an orderly, safe, and transparent process this year.

According to him, the security-sector recruitment drive remains a key part of government’s strategy to reduce unemployment and give young people access to skills training, in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 campaign commitments.

Muntaka stressed that the entire exercise will be merit-based, warning against misinformation and dismissing speculation that some candidates were being secretly selected ahead of the screening. He urged the public to report any bribery, fraud, or backdoor recruitment attempts immediately.
