FIFA has honoured U.S. President Donald J. Trump with the maiden edition of its newly created FIFA Peace Prize during the World Cup draw event held in Washington, D.C.
The award, presented by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, recognises Trump’s reported contributions toward promoting global peace, unity and cooperation through various diplomatic efforts.
In his remarks, Trump celebrated football’s ability to unite people around the world, calling the sport a powerful symbol of togetherness. He also promised that the upcoming 2026 World Cup — to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico — will deliver an unforgettable experience for fans across the globe.

According to FIFA, the Peace Prize was established to honour individuals whose exceptional work has brought people closer and strengthened global solidarity. The prize includes a gold medal, a certificate and a symbolic trophy designed as two hands lifting the globe.
This recognition marks a new direction for FIFA, signalling the organisation’s intention to use football as a catalyst for diplomacy and international understanding beyond the pitch.
