The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has temporarily suspended two categories of allowances for certain government employees, particularly those in the education sector, following a technical fault that affected the final November payroll run.
In a statement dated November 25, 2025, Head of Public Relations Cephas N. Dosco explained that the suspension was necessary to ensure that November salaries for all government workers were not delayed.
CAGD confirmed that the payroll issue is being resolved and assured affected employees that the outstanding allowances will be included in the December 2025 salaries, scheduled for payment on December 18. The department expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.
