recruitment, confirming that applications will now open on Monday, November 17, 2025. This replaces the earlier date of November 15. He said the shift follows the tragic incident recorded during the Armed Forces recruitment exercise on Wednesday and is intended to honour the victims and their families.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Friday, November 14, the minister said the recruitment drive is part of the government’s broader plan to ease unemployment through expanded security-sector opportunities. He noted that the initiative aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to create jobs and equip young people with employable skills.
Muntaka revealed that full recruitment details will be made available on the ministry’s website and all official social media pages. He also disclosed a major shift to a fully digital application system, eliminating the old paper-based processes.
“For the first time, applicants can complete the entire process on their mobile phones,” he announced.
According to the minister, a USSD shortcode and an online portal will be published on Sunday to guide applicants through each stage. The digital system will allow prospective recruits to track their progress — from submission to screening and medical examinations — directly on their phones. He assured the public that the new platform is secure, efficient, and designed to reduce the overcrowding that often accompanies security recruitment processes.
However, to ensure inclusivity for applicants in areas with limited internet access, the ministry will also make physical forms available at designated commercial banks and Ghana Post offices nationwide.
